Australian Holidays 2010

Strewth cobber - it's like heaven on earth. Once you've been down under you won't want to go home. It's got the lot; amazing weather, beautiful beaches, vibrant cities - and everyone speaks English! Australiain 2010 is a once in a lifetime destination that you won't forget.

Dame Edna Everage, Clive James and Helen Daniels are three mamoths of the entertainment world, however, few people are aware that they share a common bond. They are all from Australia.

Botany Bay - Try and Stop Me Sucka

"I wouldn't say I hide the fact that I'm from down under", says Daniels, "But I don't go on about it all the time. I absolutely love the place and any time I'm back in the old country, I make a point of visiting Botany Bay. You would think that being from Oz that I wouldn't  want to holiday there, but just try and stop me sucka."

Wow - The Sydney Opera House

Clive James' favourite building in Australia is the iconic Sydney Opera House. "Oh yeah man, I just love that building with a passion. The first time I saw it up close I just thought WOW!" Clive is no stranger to fantastic architecture, and whenever he is on holiday, makes a point of visiting the most interesting buildings. "When I was in London it was Big Ben, Paris The Eiffel Tower, Rome The Colisseum. I'm unstoppable when it comes to architecture no?"

Ayers Rocks

Dame Edna's favourite Australian icon is Ayers Rock. "The rock and me go back a long way. I remember gazing upon it when growing up in my aboriginal family." says Everage. "We called it Uhura back then, but the name was changed to Ayers Rock in the sixties to avoid confusion with the Star Trek character. I don't know why they did it. I mean who could confuse a giant rock with a lady? Anyway thats what happened."

If you are interested in visiting Australia, cheap flights to Sydney are readily available nowadays from many online flight shops as well as your high street travel agent.

We hope these stories have inspired you to visit this giant, amazing, intoxicating land in 2010. Australia is a truly wonderful place and you can get there from Britain in only twenty four hours. That's all it takes for the holiday of a lifetime.
