Dubai Holidays 2012

Dubai is a truly fascinating and exciting place to spend time. With a totally different culture to our own, it rewards a luxury visit many times over. Once a small fishing village, Dubai is now a truly sensational and luxurious holiday destination.

It’s a little known fact that Dubai is one of Prince Edward’s favourite luxury holiday destinations. “Any time I feel like getting away from Sophie and the kids, I simply jet off to Dubai.” says Edward. “I tell Sophe that I’ve got some kind of Royal Engagement or something. I just go there to chill out man.”
It's A Knockout

Edward is no stranger to luxury of course, with his mother being the Queen and all. Indeed, he has resided at some of Dubai’s most luxurious and opulent hotels. A favourite habit of the Prince’s is to don the outfit he wore on ‘It’s A Royal Knockout.” then sachet on down to the downstairs bar of the hotel and slug back some cocktails. “Sure I get some weird looks,” he remarks, “but the locals get a kick out of it.”
God Save The Queen

Another favourite haunt is Dubai’s beautiful beach front. “It gets a bit hot with the old outfit on,” says Edward,” but the locals have come to expect it. I can’t let them down. One time, last year, I actually swam out to the islands - you know the ones that are a map of the world and claimed Britain for my mother. I planted a Union Jack in the sand there and gave a rousing rendition of ‘God Save the Queen’, then swam back for cocktails at the hotel bar. Tally ho!”

Edward is particularly excited by the tallest building in the world, which is located in Dubai. “I just love these kind of things, you know, higher, faster, longer and all that. I think I’ll try climbing to the top of that some time, either in 2012 or 2012.”
