Holiday Destinations in the Indian Ocean

Tourist Boat on Indian Ocean

Comoros - Grand Comore (Ngazidja)

The largest island of Comoros, Grand Comore is the home of the capital city and the Karthala volcano. Karthala is one of the most dangerous, and largest volcanoes in the world because the water inside the volcano makes it unstable. Karthala has exploded and rained rocks down many times, with the latest activity occuring in January 2010. The volcano is great for hiking when it's inactive, and takes a two day treck to reach the peak.

Vola Volo market offers food, clothes, and typical souvenier fair; one thing that you can buy is quality handmade baskets. Le Rose Noir is the nightclub destination in Moroni. A relaxed atmosphere with little to no observation of Muslim values, it's a prime destination for nightlife, along with Club des Amis which is larger and far more relaxed than Le Rose Noir.
Moheli (Mwali)

The main draw to Moheli for holiday is snorkeling, especially between Boabab and Maya has the clearest water and coral reefs.
