Jamaica Holidays 2012

Jamaica Water Scene

Jamaica – a paradise for the elite and casual traveller

Jamaica is one of the most beautiful islands in the Caribbean Sea and is one of the most popular holiday spots throughout the year. The island is filled with a wide range of choices from the posh port Antonio for the elite traveler to the Ocho Rios which has the traditional resorts the island is popular for. Whether you are looking to relax on the beach or enjoy the amazing nightlife, Jamaica is a destination that everyone has to visit at least once in their life.

The temperature of Jamaica can only be described as paradise. With a year round average of 80 to 86F, you will never consider a heavy jacket unless you plan to scale to the higher altitudes. The “doctor breezes” as the locals calls it, are warm trade winds that blow across the island and help to enforce how heavenly the place is.

The beaches of Jamaica are all breathtaking and playing in the ocean waters is another must for the vacation, whether you are staying near the capital of Kingston, or purchased an all inclusive package that has you staying at one of the four high class resorts in Montego Bay. Even if you aren’t staying at a resort on Montego Bay, visiting the beaches there are something you will regret missing.

The drinks flow constantly most anywhere you go in Jamaica and the food is some of the best you will ever eat. What makes Jamaica great is that their cuisine has been inspired from many other cultures and they have taken it in and adopted it as their own. Feasting on one of the many Jamaican Jerk dishes, inspired by the Arawak People, will have you figuring out how to make something similar when you return home. There is a heavy Indian influence that can be seen by the number of curry dishes available, but the Jamaicans have also curried vegetables and fruits as well. The Spanish introduced the idea of the patty to the Jamaican people and inspired the creation of the Jamaican patties which are a favourite around the world.

A holiday to Jamaica will be filled with relaxation and decadence. Whether it is lounging around on the most beautiful beaches in the world or sitting at one of the local restaurants or bars, you will always find a drink in your hand and a meal not far off. The culture of Jamaica is glorious and the feeling of a party atmosphere is always prevalent.
